Changwon City Designates 15 'Changwon-type Small Giants' as Leaders of Economic V-Turn

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the first day of the '2021 Corporate Energy Revitalization Week' on the 24th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam awarded designation certificates to the representatives of 15 companies designated as Changwon-type Small Giant Companies this year at the Citizen Hall.
This year's Changwon-type Small Giant Companies include 15 companies: Geumhwa Tech Co., Ltd., Giseong Highst, Namdo Hightech Co., Ltd., Daewon Gijeon, Lecterson Co., Ltd., Aratech, SMS Tech, M-Tech Global Co., Ltd., Woorim Tech, Xtriple Co., Ltd., Changwon Electron, Taekwang Co., Ltd., TIS Co., Ltd., Poongsan Techwin Co., Ltd., and PMG Co., Ltd.
Changwon-type Small Giant Companies are 'small but strong companies' located in Changwon.
To foster them as leading companies driving regional economic growth, Changwon City and the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency are collaborating to promote the 'Changwon-type Small Giant Company Development Project.'
Since 2015 until last year, 61 small giant companies have been selected and nurtured.
These companies achieved a sales growth rate of 5.1%, about twice the national average 3-year average sales growth rate of 2.9% for small and medium manufacturing enterprises as of the end of last year.
Designated companies receive up to 50 million KRW per company for one year.
They are provided with customized support to strengthen corporate competitiveness, including core technology development support, focused business management through dedicated manager matching, productivity management system diagnosis, and technology consulting.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu stated, "With the rapid changes in the domestic industrial environment, the role of small and medium enterprises is becoming increasingly important," and added, "We will actively discover Changwon-type Small Giant Companies, which are small but strong companies in Changwon, and establish a foundation for Changwon's economic V-turn through more systematic nurturing."
