"Innovating Logistics Using Drones and Robots"… Mesh Korea Selected for Government Demonstration Project
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Digital Logistics Demonstration Complex Support Project' Participation
"Responding to Future Transportation Means... Building Next-Generation Logistics Systems"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Mesh Korea, which operates the comprehensive logistics brand Burung, announced on the 24th that it has been finally selected as a participating company in the government's '2021 Digital Logistics Demonstration Complex Creation Support Project.' Through this, next-generation transportation means such as robots and drones will be applied to Burung's IT-based logistics services.
The Digital Logistics Demonstration Complex Creation Support Project, led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is being implemented for the first time this year to solve urban logistics problems such as traffic congestion and safety accidents by realizing a digital logistics system.
Mesh Korea will utilize robot and drone delivery with support from Gimcheon City and Gyeongsangbuk-do in the 'Digital Logistics Service Demonstration Support' sector. Aiming to create a digital logistics innovation city, it plans to collaborate with related organizations and companies to conduct various innovative logistics experiments.
Specifically, it will demonstrate drone delivery between logistics centers and delivery destinations, and autonomous logistics robot delivery services targeting public buildings and officetels. The plan is to build an optimal digital transportation solution model through data analysis and various simulations.
After aerial transportation via drones, linkage with ground robots will also be attempted. This will overcome hurdles in last-mile delivery and promote the establishment of a next-generation smart logistics platform.
