Geumcheon-gu Awards Model Youth and Others for Youth Month Recognition
15 Euddeum Children, 53 Model Youths, and 5 Youth Development and Protection Merit Recipients Selected... Awards Presented to Schools and Institutions After Public Review on May 26
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will award commendations to 73 children and youth who serve as role models through healthy and upright growth, as well as to those who have devotedly contributed to youth development and protection, in celebration of May as Youth Month.
Previously, from April 19 to May 7, the district selected a total of 73 individuals through recommendations from school principals at all levels, heads of child and youth-related institutions (facilities), and groups of five or more residents: 15 ‘Eutteum Children’, 53 ‘Model Youths’, and 5 ‘Youth Development and Protection Contributors’.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the district will omit the commendation ceremony and plans to deliver the awards to each school and institution on the 26th after a public review.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We want to encourage youths and contributors who serve as exemplary figures by not letting go of their dreams and hopes despite difficult circumstances,” adding, “We will continue to actively support children and youth in various ways so that they can grow up healthily.”
