[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] eBay Korea announced on the 22nd that, after analyzing sales data from the 'Big Smile Day' event held over 9 days from the 10th to the 18th, 8 out of the top 10 sales ranking items were home appliances.
Big Smile Day is the largest discount event in the first half of the year simultaneously held by Gmarket, Auction, and G9. During this event, eBay Korea recorded the highest transaction amount since the event began in 2017.
Among the cumulative top 10 sales on Gmarket and Auction during the event period, all items except the sales leader 'Samsung Galaxy Book Ion2' at 1st place and 'Samsung Galaxy S21' at 6th place were home appliances. Looking at the detailed items, the 'Samsung Wind-Free Air Conditioner,' which ranked 2nd in total sales, recorded sales of 6.5 billion KRW, making it the best-selling home appliance. Following that, the 'Winix Dehumidifier' achieved 6.47 billion KRW, and the 'Samsung UHD TV' generated 4.91 billion KRW in sales.
Additionally, the Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator (3.89 billion KRW), LG Whisen Dual Air Conditioner (3.18 billion KRW), Samsung Grande Washing Machine and Dryer Set (2.22 billion KRW), LG Dios Dishwasher (2.18 billion KRW), and LG Styler (1.65 billion KRW) also ranked in the top 10. Sales of home appliances within the top 10 reached a total of 31 billion KRW.
