This schedule aims to gather the sentiments of the residents in Gyeongnam, where attention to local politicians is low compared to other elections, with the presidential election one year away.
On the 22nd, starting at 10 a.m. with a visit to President Roh's gravesite, Congressman Kim will attend the executive committee meeting of the Yangsan regional committee, his constituency, at 11 a.m. to hear opinions on participating in the presidential primary. At 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., he will hold sequential meetings with basic and metropolitan council members of Gimhae City.
At this event, Congressman Kim will emphasize that depending on the outcome of next year's presidential election, the position of the democratic reform forces in Gyeongnam, established by Presidents Roh and Moon, could change significantly. He plans to encourage efforts to ensure that the candidate favored by the residents of Gyeongnam, the foundation of public sentiment in the southeastern region, becomes the Democratic Party's candidate, as this will determine the success of the presidential election.
Meanwhile, at 5 p.m. on the same day, Congressman Kim will meet with officials from the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation to discuss activities related to the Roh Moo-hyun Spirit Succession Coalition. On the 23rd, the anniversary of President Roh's passing, he will be invited to the memorial event in Bongha Village, attend the memorial service, and meet with Mrs. Kwon Yang-sook.
On the morning of the 24th, he plans to visit Governor Kim Kyung-soo of Gyeongnam Province at the provincial office for a cordial meeting.
This will be the third meeting between the two this spring. It is known that they share the view that the role of the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region is very important for the reestablishment of the administration.
