Yeongsan Middle and High School Alumni Association Visits Alma Mater to Present Scholarship Funds
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Yeongsan Middle and High School Alumni Association visited their alma mater on the 18th to present scholarship certificates and encourage the students.
The scholarship certificate presentation ceremony was attended by Lee Gi-jun, President of the Yeongsan Middle and High School Alumni Association; Lee Jun-tae, President of the Seoul Alumni Association; Lee Chang-gyun, Principal of Yeongsan High School; Choi Jin-yeon, Principal of Yeongsan Middle School; Kim Young-gil, Naju Education Director; and executive members of the Alumni Association.
On this day, the Yeongsan Middle and High School Alumni Association awarded scholarships totaling 7.8 million KRW, giving 500,000 KRW each to 12 high school students and 300,000 KRW each to 6 middle school students, supporting the juniors to continue their studies stably.
Especially, the event was made more touching by the special scholarship donation from Lee Jae-jin, the immediate past president of the Alumni Association and member of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Development Council, and the donation of 20,000 masks to the alma mater by alumnus Son Chang-woo (16th class, Head of LCM Energy Solutions Headquarters).
President Lee Gi-jun said, “I sincerely thank the alumni who joined forces to raise scholarship funds for the development of our alma mater and the nurturing of excellent juniors. The Alumni Association will spare no support to help Yeongsan Middle and High School juniors achieve their dreams and grow into outstanding talents not only in the Naju community but throughout Korea.”
Principals Lee Chang-gyun and Choi Jin-yeon said, “We are grateful to the Alumni Association for their unwavering scholarship support for our alma mater despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 economic crisis. The school will also strive even harder to improve students’ academic achievements to nurture good talents.”

Meanwhile, the Yeongsan Middle and High School Alumni Association is conducting a support campaign encouraging each alumnus to open one account and contribute 10,000 KRW monthly to establish a scholarship fund for the alma mater.
