Jung Jin-seok "I Support Hong Jun-pyo's Reinstatement, But Could It Be After June Instead of Now?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Jeong Jin-seok, a member of the People Power Party, expressed principled support for the reinstatement of independent lawmaker Hong Jun-pyo to the party but suggested postponing the timing until after June.
On the 18th, Jeong shared his opinion on Hong's reinstatement through social media (SNS). He stated, "It is unreasonable to exclude someone who served as party leader and presidential candidate during difficult times for the party," adding, "Excluding him just because of his blunt speech is equally unjust."
He continued, "No matter how ruthless politics can be and how much it moves according to interests, the excessive ostracism of former leader Hong Jun-pyo is too heartless," expressing his support for Hong’s return. However, he added, "I hope the timing of Hong’s party entry will be after the June party convention," and "in a form where he joins simultaneously with former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, leader Ahn Cheol-soo, and former Ajou University President Kim Dong-yeon."
Jeong also urged, "I ask Hong to drop his lone wolf attitude of ‘everything I have said so far was right,’" and "to consider why many people in the party feel uncomfortable with him."
