'Forest Where Happiness Grows Rapidly' ... Expansion of Forest Recreation Facilities in Gyeongnam Province
Operation of 16 Natural Recreation Forests (2 National, 11 Public, 3 Private)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 18th that it has secured a budget of 13.9 billion KRW this year to expand distinctive natural recreational forest facilities in order to provide customized forest leisure services.
Currently, Gyeongnam Province operates 16 sites (2 national, 11 public, 3 private), including Geumwonsan Natural Recreational Forest.
Five new sites are under development: Wolasan Natural Recreational Forest (Jinju), Sacheon Cable Car Natural Recreational Forest (Sacheon), Doraejae Natural Recreational Forest (Miryang), Galmobong Natural Recreational Forest (Goseong), and Hangnohwa Natural Recreational Forest (Geochang).
Among them, two public sites, Cable Car Natural Recreational Forest and Hangnohwa Natural Recreational Forest, are scheduled to be completed and begin operation in the first half of this year.
Additionally, convenience facilities expansion and improvement projects at the currently operating natural recreational forests will be completed before the peak season to ensure a pleasant and safe forest leisure service experience.
