KakaoBank to Temporarily Suspend Financial Transactions Early Morning on 23rd for IT System Expansion
Partial Replacement and Upgrade Work of Computer Equipment
[Asia Economy Reporter Sung Ki-ho] KakaoBank announced on the 18th that it will temporarily suspend all financial services including inquiries, transfers, check card payments, and ATM withdrawals from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the 23rd to ensure stable operation of its IT system.
As of the end of April, KakaoBank has surpassed 16.3 million users and continues to grow steadily, maintaining the number one position in bank app visitors. Accordingly, it has decided to replace and upgrade some of its IT equipment to provide more stable services.
The suspended services include ▲KakaoBank application (app) and website usage ▲domestic and overseas check card usage ▲automated devices (CD/ATM) usage ▲deposit/withdrawal and card payment notification services ▲transactions with KakaoBank through other financial institutions ▲customer center service processing, among others.
The suspension is scheduled for 7 hours from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the 23rd, but the time may change depending on the progress of the work.
