Celebrity Curling Tournament to Be Held at Uijeongbu Curling Rink on the 7th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] The 2nd Uijeongbu-Hanstar Celebrity Curling Tournament, wishing for the success of the '2022 Beijing Winter Olympics' and the '2024 Gangwon-do Youth Winter Olympics,' will be held on June 7 at the Uijeongbu Curling Center in Gyeonggi Province.
Hosted and organized by Hanstar Media, and sponsored by Uijeongbu City, the Korea Celebrity Baseball Association (SBO), and the Embassy of China in Korea, this tournament will be broadcast on MBC Sports Plus and recorded for broadcast in China.
Held for the first time in January 2016, this tournament is taking place again after five years, featuring four teams: two singer teams (Woosunghago Singer, Bingmima), a beauty pageant team (Miss Curling), and professional baseball and basketball cheerleader teams (Chiringchiring).
'Woosunghago Singer' consists of singers Insooni, Dal Soobin of Dalshabet, Nada formerly of Wassup, and rapper Giant Pink. 'Bingmima' is led by trot singers Kim Yang, Lim Mi-hye, Woo Hyun-jung, and ballad singers Ji Se-hee and So Kim. 'Chiringchiring' is made up of KIA Tigers' Park Shin-bi and Yoo Soo-ah, SSG Landers' Ahn Yi-rang and Kim Do-ah, and professional basketball SK Knights' Kim Min-ji. 'Miss Curling' features various beauty pageant winners including reporter and MC Ga Jeong-yeon, broadcaster Lee Jeong-yeon and Moon Soo-hee, culinary researcher Seo Jin-young, and model and actress Kim Rosa.

Hanstar Media is also planning an international exchange match between Korean and Chinese celebrity representative teams this coming October. Through a domestic celebrity selection contest, two men's teams and two women's teams will be formed to compete against Chinese teams in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province (or Beijing) in October, 100 days before the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
