Busan Education Office, Open Class Using Blended Classroom to Enhance Student Participation
Elementary, Middle, High, and Special Schools in 19 Locations Conduct Subjects Including Korean, Math, and Art
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) announced on the 17th that it will conduct 'Blended Learning Open Classes' for parents and teachers from other schools at 19 elementary, middle, high, and special schools until June 25.
The open classes are being held to provide stable support for student-centered classes using blended classrooms, according to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education.
The schools participating in this open class program include eight elementary schools: Sinseon Elementary, Seokpo Elementary, Hakjang Elementary, Jugam Elementary, Yeonil Elementary, Anmin Elementary, Mangmi Elementary, and Baesan Elementary; six middle schools: Deokwon Middle, Busan International Middle, Jisa Middle, Geoseong Middle, Haegang Middle, and Dongsuyeong Middle; four high schools: Yangjeong High, Bunpo High, Busan Jungang High, and Busan Munhwa Girls' High; and one special school: Busan Seongwoo School.
This program presents exemplary cases of classes using the Busan-style blended classroom, which is being promoted nationwide for the first time, covering various subjects such as Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Ethics, Practical Arts, Art, Health and Nursing (specialized subjects), and special education subjects.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to produce videos of these open classes so that other schools can utilize the methods, and distribute them to all elementary, middle, high, and special schools in the Busan area.

Lee Jae-han, Director of the Future Talent Education Division at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This open class is intended to enhance understanding of student-centered classes through blended learning," and added, "We will continue to support the successful establishment of blended classes in school settings."
