KakaoTalk Wallet is a service that allows users to store and manage certificates, IDs, and licenses within KakaoTalk, serving as a mobile authentication method to prove one's identity. A representative service is the KakaoTalk Wallet QR, which enables users to use QR codes anytime and anywhere for access or authentication at offline stores.
Through this partnership with Kakao, Seven Eleven has enhanced accessibility and convenience for consumers using Signature stores. Currently, Seven Eleven Signature allows entry not only with KakaoTalk Wallet QR but also with regular credit cards, Lotte Card Handpay, and L.point membership.
The usage method is simple. First, issue a Kakao certificate in the KakaoTalk Wallet found under the More tab in KakaoTalk. Then, authenticate yourself at the access authentication terminal using the generated wallet QR code and enter the Signature store. Users need to agree to provide personal information once initially, and the consent is maintained for 90 days.
After conducting a test operation of KakaoTalk Wallet QR authentication at three major Signature stores, Seven Eleven plans to expand this service to all Signature stores starting in June. Currently, Seven Eleven operates about 100 Signature stores nationwide.

A Seven Eleven official stated, “Due to the increase in non-face-to-face consumption trends following COVID-19 and the continuous rise of hybrid stores operating unmanned during late-night hours, we partnered with Kakao to introduce this service to enhance customer convenience. We will continue to expand various access authentication methods to assist consumers' usage and shopping convenience.”
