This Year’s ‘Busan Silver Film Festival’ Slogan Contest Open for Submissions
May 12-21: 11th Silver Film Festival Slogan Submissions, Awards on May 31
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) is holding a slogan contest for the 11th Busan Silver Film Festival this year.
The slogan contest runs until the 21st and is open to everyone. Participants can easily enter by filling out and submitting a Google form.
Busan City will select ▲1 Grand Prize winner (gift certificate worth 200,000 KRW) ▲2 Excellence Award winners (gift certificates worth 50,000 KRW each) through a judging process. The selected slogans will be used for the name and promotion of the 11th Busan Silver Film Festival.
The Busan Silver Film Festival is hosted by Busan City and the Busan Senior Welfare Center Association, and organized by the Busan Silver Film Festival Organizing Committee and the Busan Viewer Media Center.
This event has been promoted since 2001 in the city of films, Busan, to improve negative perceptions of the elderly through media.
The Silver Film Festival delivers emotional impact through free-topic works created directly by seniors aged 60 and over, as well as elderly-themed works open to anyone, playing a role in communicating across generations.
This year, a video contest will be held in August, and the film festival screening the award-winning works and others is scheduled for September.
Mentor training for the Silver Film Festival will also be conducted. The Busan Silver Film Festival Organizing Committee will operate theoretical education and practical courses on planning, filming, and editing for seniors aged 60 and over interested in video production until October.
The ‘online mentor training’ aims to strengthen the digital capabilities of the elderly and spread the culture of the new senior generation.
Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, encouraged active participation, saying, “I hope the Silver Film Festival, Busan’s representative silver cultural festival, will become a place of communication where various generations can participate.”
