Gangdong-gu, No Fees for 10 Types of Civil Service Documents Including Resident Registration Certificates at Unmanned Issuance Machines
Eight Additional Unmanned Civil Service Issuance Machines Scheduled for Installation at Myeongil Station and Dong Community Centers Within This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) has waived the issuance fees for 10 types of the most frequently issued civil documents, including resident registration certificates and family relation registration documents, out of 111 types available at unmanned civil document issuance machines since the 6th.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the district aims to encourage non-face-to-face issuance using unmanned machines instead of in-person applications at civil service counters, alleviating residents' anxiety about COVID-19 and enhancing convenience, thereby providing high-quality public administrative services.
The civil documents with waived issuance fees at Gangdong-gu's unmanned machines include 2 types of resident registration certificates and 8 types of family relation registration documents such as family relation certificates, basic certificates, and marriage relation certificates.
Currently, a total of 21 unmanned civil document issuance machines are installed in Gangdong-gu. They are located in places with high foot traffic such as Gangdong-gu Office, Gangdong-gu Health Center, Gangdong Tax Office, 7 community service centers (Gangil-dong, Sangil-dong, Gildong, Cheonho 3-dong, Amsa 1-dong, Godeok 1-dong, Dunchon 2-dong), Central Veterans Hospital, Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital, Gangdong Seongshim Hospital, and 7 subway stations, operating 365 days a year. However, family relation registration documents cannot be issued at machines installed in subway stations due to security reasons, so residents should take note of this.
Residents can conveniently issue civil documents anytime and anywhere using fingerprint recognition without an ID card at unmanned machines. A total of 111 types of civil documents can be issued, including resident registration, family relations, vehicle, cadastral and architectural, welfare, agriculture and fisheries, military service, education, and health insurance certificates.
A district official stated, “We hope this fee waiver for unmanned civil document issuance machines will provide some relief to residents struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “The district plans to install a total of 8 additional unmanned machines at Myeongil Station and community service centers within this year to meet diverse civil service demands.”
Last year, Gangdong-gu introduced credit card and mobile easy payment services to unmanned civil document issuance machines, diversifying payment methods and providing customer-oriented administrative services.
