Heavy Rain in Central Region from Tonight until Tomorrow Morning... Heavy Rain Advisory Issued
KMA Issues Heavy Rain Advisory for Central Region in Early Hours of 16th
Expect Very Heavy Rainfall of 30-50mm per Hour
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecasted heavy rain in the central region from the night of the 15th to the morning of the 16th.
At 4 p.m. on the 15th, the KMA issued a heavy rain advisory for the central region. It will take effect from early morning tomorrow in Seoul, southern Gyeonggi, Incheon, northern Chungbuk, northern Chungnam, and central and southern Yeongseo areas of Gangwon Province.
Heavy rain is expected mainly in the central region from early morning to morning tomorrow. Very strong and heavy rain of 30 to 50mm per hour, accompanied by gusts and thunder and lightning, will fall. In areas where rain continues until the day after tomorrow, visibility will be reduced and many roads will be slippery, so caution is required for facility management and safety accidents.
Due to a low-pressure system developing in central China and approaching the West Sea, rain that started in the western region from the night of the 15th will expand nationwide by early morning tomorrow. The rain will gradually stop from the western region starting the night of the 16th, but sporadic rain will continue until the 17th in eastern Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gangwon, eastern inland Jeolla, and inland Gyeongsang regions.

Most of the rain will stop by the morning of the 17th, but rain is expected to continue until daytime on the 17th in eastern Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gangwon, eastern inland Jeolla, and inland Gyeongsang. With the rain, temperatures will drop slightly, with morning lows on the 16th ranging from 15 to 21 degrees Celsius and daytime highs from 16 to 24 degrees Celsius.
The KMA stated, "Since heavy rain is expected for a short period during the vulnerable early morning hours, please be especially cautious to avoid damage caused by flooding of small and medium rivers’ walking paths, road flooding, and backflow in drainage channels." They added, "If the low-pressure system develops over the West Sea tomorrow night and passes along the southern coast, precipitation may increase in the Jeonnam and Gyeongnam regions."
