Expecting Prevention of Secondhand Smoke and Creation of Comfortable Living Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seongsoo Park) designated Jamsil Parkrio Apartment as a 'No-Smoking Zone Apartment' and held a plaque ceremony on the 14th.
A no-smoking apartment is designated and operated as a no-smoking zone in common residential areas such as hallways, stairs, elevators, and underground parking lots according to the 'National Health Promotion Act,' and designation is possible only if more than half of the household heads agree.
Accordingly, out of a total of 7,150 households, 3,835 households, accounting for 53.6%, agreed to designate the apartment as a no-smoking zone. After a two-month guidance period until June 19, a fine of 50,000 KRW will be imposed if smoking is detected in the no-smoking area.
On this day, the Parkrio Residents' Representative Meeting held the no-smoking zone plaque ceremony and plans to conduct continuous guidance and enforcement.
The plaque ceremony was held in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, with fewer than 30 apartment residents and Songpa-gu Mayor Seongsoo Park attending, and it was broadcast live to all apartment households via Songpa Cable TV.
