President Moon said that Prime Minister Kim, as a member of the first cabinet of the Moon administration, has a good understanding of major national tasks, and asked, "Please strengthen unity and cohesion around Prime Minister Kim during the final year."
He also emphasized, "Please work hard to overcome the social disaster of COVID-19 and to restore the economy," adding, "Above all, based on inter-ministerial cooperation, communicating and collaborating with the private sector and companies is the greatest strength in overcoming the disaster."
Regarding recent industrial accident cases, he said, "My heart aches. There have been heartbreaking incidents where lives and families are lost due to industrial accidents," and urged, "With the Ministry of Employment and Labor at the center, all ministries should take special interest and strive to reduce industrial accidents."
In response, Prime Minister Kim expressed his aspirations, saying, "The first cabinet of the Moon administration had good teamwork and worked with great spirit," and "The final cabinet will also become one team and devote all efforts to advancing the Korean community."
Minister Lim said, "Going through the confirmation hearing made me think a lot," and added, "The Ministry of Science and ICT has a significant role in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and digital transformation. I will communicate and cooperate."
Minister Moon responded, "I will devote myself to stabilizing the economy on a normal track after COVID-19," and said, "Since companies cannot overcome this alone, the government will stand by and help."
Minister Ahn stated, "I will ensure that the employment situation of vulnerable groups such as youth and women improves so that it can be felt," and said, "The whole nation is worried about industrial accidents, and I will do my best to create a society safe from industrial accidents."
Minister Noh said, "Stabilizing the real estate market and eradicating speculation are the top priorities," and added, "We will ensure that the government's supply measures are carried out without fail and promptly proceed with structural reforms to restore trust in LH."
Spouses of each cabinet member also attended the appointment ceremony. President Moon presented each spouse with a bouquet composed of 'Chamomile,' symbolizing resilience in adversity, 'Lily of the Valley,' whose flower language means guaranteed happiness, and 'Monstera,' representing dedication.
