Prosecutors Investigate Former SK Supex Council Chairman Kim Chang-geun as Witness
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] The prosecution investigating allegations of corruption against Choi Seon-won, chairman of SK Networks, has questioned Kim Chang-geun, former chairman of the SK Supex Council.
According to the legal community on the 13th, the Anti-Corruption Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jeon Joon-cheol) questioned former chairman Kim as a witness on the same day.
Kim served as chairman of the Supex Council from 2012 to 2016.
The prosecution is known to have summoned Kim to investigate the circumstances under which SKC participated in the paid-in capital increase of SK Telesys, which had previously fallen into a state of capital erosion.
The prosecution believes that SKC suffered losses as a result of participating in the paid-in capital increase. They are currently verifying whether the highest levels of SK Group were involved.
