Yeosu-si, Recruitment of Applicants for 2022 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project
All Buildings in Yeoseo, Munsu, and Mipyeong Areas, Apply by May 31
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Kyung-taek] Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do has launched a demand survey for applicants wishing to participate in the '2022 New Renewable Energy Supply Convergence Support' public project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and alleviate the economic burden on citizens.
The convergence support project involves installing one or more types of new renewable energy sources, such as solar power and solar heat, in a converged manner on houses, public buildings, and commercial or factory buildings.
This public project by the Korea Energy Agency is conducted with 50% national funding, 30% city funding, and 20% self-payment upon selection. An average monthly electricity bill reduction of 40,000 to 50,000 KRW is expected, and the self-payment recovery period is 2 to 3 years, making it a project with high resident satisfaction.
The support scale for houses is 4.6 million KRW for a 3KW facility, with a self-payment of 920,000 KRW. For all buildings other than houses, the facility cost is 1.63 million KRW per 1KW, with a self-payment of 320,000 KRW, and applications are possible up to 100KW.
Eligibility for support includes all building owners located in the Yeoseo, Munsu, and Mipyeong areas, and applications can be submitted through the relevant community service center or local neighborhood leader by May 31.
Based on this, the Korea Energy Agency will conduct document and on-site evaluations, and if finally selected by September, the project will be implemented from March 2022.
A city official said, "We hope for active interest and participation from residents in the new renewable energy convergence support project to realize citizens' energy welfare and create an eco-friendly city."
