Yangcheon-gu Recruits EGG Expedition Team Leading Climate Change Crisis Response
Operation of Eco Green Generation Exploration Team Environmental Field Trip Program... Visit 10 Excellent Environmental Facilities in the Region and Complete the Mission Map by Collecting Stamps
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is recruiting the EGG Expedition Team, which completes a mission map by visiting 10 environmentally excellent facilities in the area and stamping a certification seal.
EGG Expedition Team stands for Eco Green Generation, a double entendre meaning ‘an eco-friendly green generation striving to overcome the climate change crisis, like breaking out of an eggshell.’
When the district received the Presidential Award in last year’s Green City evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Environment, 10 facilities recognized as environmentally excellent were selected as exploration missions so that residents could visit them directly and reflect on the environment we must protect.
Participants can explore Yangcheon Solar Station, Green Fence, West Seoul Lake Park, Yangcheon Park, and learn about solar energy and disaster response methods. They can also engage in various activities such as observing vegetation and experiencing agriculture in the district’s hidden green spaces, which is expected to raise awareness of environmental conservation.
The exploration mission requires individuals or families to complete the mission map by visiting at least 5 of the 10 environmentally excellent facilities, with Green Fence as a mandatory course, and stamping their mission map.
Upon submitting the completed mission map and confirming Eco Mileage registration, the district plans to award an EGG Expedition Team certification magnet.
Applications for the EGG Expedition Team, running from May to October, can be made through the district’s integrated reservation website. Mission maps can be obtained at Mok 5-dong Community Center, Yeonui Ecology Learning Center, West Seoul Lake Park, and more. For further details, contact the Green Environment Division of Yangcheon-gu Office.
