A man in his 40s arrested for breaking into houses and stealing items in Dongdaemun-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced on the 12th that it has arrested A (49) on charges of breaking into multi-family houses in the Jegi-dong area of Dongdaemun-gu at night and stealing items (nighttime residential burglary).
According to the police, A is accused of breaking into a multi-family house in Jegi-dong at around 9:15 p.m. on the 20th of last month and stealing cash and other items. He used a cutter to tear off the security bars and entered the house, and similarly broke into other nearby houses to steal laptops and other items.
The police tracked his movements through CCTV and other means and apprehended A in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 4th of this month. It is reported that A stole a total of approximately 3.8 million won worth of cash and goods.
