Health Authorities Ensure Thorough Tracking of Confirmed Cases' Movements and Contacts

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 12th, as of 2 p.m. that day, 16 people were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 and were classified as cases 2541 to 2556.
Three are related to entertainment establishments in the Sangmu district, two to a call center at a credit card company in Seo-gu, five to existing confirmed cases, three to confirmed cases from other cities or provinces, and three have unknown infection routes.
Health authorities are closely monitoring the spread to religious facilities as one of the confirmed cases visited a church during their movement.
During the epidemiological investigation of case 2523, confirmed the previous day (infection route under investigation), a visit to a church in Gwangsan-gu was confirmed. A list of worship attendees was obtained, and diagnostic tests were conducted on 19 people, with 6 confirmed positive and 13 awaiting results.
Also, case 2539, confirmed in relation to a high school in Gwangsan-gu, was found to have visited a church in Seo-gu on the 9th and 10th, and a full investigation is underway for 470 attendees of the worship service.
