View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Hwang Un-ha, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed that the so-called Blue House-ordered investigation allegations related to Kim Gi-hyeon, acting leader of the People Power Party and floor leader, during his time as mayor of Ulsan, are "merely one-sided claims by the prosecution, and more precisely, lies."
On the 12th, Hwang appeared on YTN Radio's "Hwang Bo-seon's Start of the Morning" and said, "The prosecution seems to have fabricated the case to derail prosecution reform and to protect the interests of the prosecution organization," adding, "The fabricated content is very childish, and Mayor Song Cheol-ho of Ulsan also mentioned it, calling it a 'third-rate political novel' level of childishness."
He continued, "The other day at the trial, the prosecution explained the charges through a presentation, and listening to it, I felt pathetic, thinking 'Do I really have to listen to this?'"
"There was absolutely no order as the prosecution claims, and the so-called request that Mayor Song Cheol-ho allegedly made to me did not exist at all," he said.
Hwang stated, "The Ulsan Police never reported to the Blue House even once. The Ulsan Police Agency only reported to the National Police Agency," adding, "The Ulsan Police Agency does not know whether the National Police Agency reported to the Blue House. Even if the National Police Agency did report to the Blue House, that is a very routine reporting process." He also said, "The trial should not be for me to face, but for the prosecution."
Hwang said, "The essence of this case is that the prosecution framed it as a Blue House-ordered investigation, then fabricated and falsified the case for political purposes or for the prosecution's interests," adding, "There were three major local corruption investigations into associates of former Ulsan Mayor Kim Gi-hyeon by the police. These were matters already underway before the intelligence was transmitted from the National Police Agency to the Ulsan Police Agency. One of the three cases was the corruption allegations against the secretary-general of former Mayor Kim Gi-hyeon."

He added, "It was dismissed by the prosecution. It was only a local corruption investigation, but the prosecution thought that they could create the frame they wanted only if they covered up this case, so they covered it up," he claimed.
