Korea Federation of SMEs Holds Policy Meeting with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon... Urges Resolution of SME Difficulties
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of SMEs held a policy meeting with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon on the 12th at the Seoul City Hall conference room.
This meeting was organized to address the difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives in the Seoul area. Attendees included Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, Park Jong-seok, Chairman of the Seoul SME Association, as well as chairpersons of industry-specific cooperatives in Seoul.
Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, expressed strong agreement with Mayor Oh’s recent remarks about preparing a robust online platform to resolve the mismatch between job seekers and companies, which has made employment difficult.
He added, "I propose utilizing the 'Cham Gwaenchanheun Small and Medium Enterprise Platform,' developed directly by the Federation, so that young job seekers can easily access information about excellent SMEs."
Chairman Kim emphasized, "It is necessary to expand the budget supporting the revitalization of cooperatives so that industry-specific cooperatives can carry out various joint projects to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs."
He also requested, "Since the cooperative-recommended negotiated contract limit has been increased from 50 million won to 100 million won to expand sales channels for SMEs and small business owners, we ask for Seoul City’s active use and promotion of this system."
