[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) is attracting attention with its 'Care Safe Housing' operated for housing-vulnerable individuals.
According to Seo-gu on the 11th, residents who require care and long-term hospitalized patients who cannot be discharged due to lack of housing are moving into the Care Safe Housing prepared at Kumho Siyoung Apartments.
At the end of last month, three people completed moving in, and three more are currently in progress.
'Kumho Siyoung Care Safe Housing' is a senior-customized residential housing created through a business agreement between Seo-gu and Gwangju Urban Corporation, providing an integrated care service including health, medical, and daily life support in a living environment suitable for the elderly.
In particular, Mr. A (72), a single elderly person living in Seochang-dong with stage 4 bile duct cancer requiring chemotherapy, had been living in a prefabricated container without electricity or heating due to difficult financial circumstances.
The Seochang-dong Customized Welfare Team continuously monitored Mr. A's housing environment and health condition and assisted with moving into the Care Safe Housing. The Seochang-dong Security Council also actively helped by cleaning up old belongings and household waste that had been neglected for a long time, enabling a comfortable move.
