Ministry of Unification: "If North Korea and the US Create an Opportunity for Dialogue, It Is Positive"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Regarding the United States' proposal to contact North Korea to explain the results of its North Korea policy review, and North Korea's response of "well received," the Ministry of Unification evaluated it as "positive if an opportunity for dialogue is created."
On the 11th, when asked by reporters about the progress of such North Korea-US contact, a Ministry of Unification official responded, "We evaluate it positively if, through various contact processes, an opportunity is actually created for North Korea and the US to sit down and talk quickly."
Earlier, the Biden administration requested contact with North Korea last week to explain the results of its North Korea policy review, and reports emerged that North Korea neither confirmed nor denied but responded with "well received."
