Asiana "Expanding Transport for Indian Residents"... Additional Aircraft Scheduled
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Asiana Airlines announced on the 11th that it has arranged an emergency special flight to transport Indian expatriates and businesspeople.
On the same day at 2 p.m., Asiana Airlines operated a third special flight departing from Incheon to Delhi, India. This flight is scheduled to depart Delhi at 9 p.m. (local time) and arrive at Incheon Airport at 7:40 a.m. the following day. Previously, the company operated two special flights on the 5th and 8th from Bengaluru and Delhi, transporting a total of 368 passengers.
Asiana Airlines plans to operate a total of four additional special flights this month. Three flights will be added on the Delhi route (14th, 27th, 30th) and one on the Bengaluru route (21st). They are actively considering additional flights in June based on the demand from expatriates wishing to return home.
To ensure safety onboard, the special flights allow passengers to occupy no more than 60% of the total seats, with over 90% of those seats reserved for Korean nationals. All boarding staff, including flight and cabin crew, wear protective suits, and Asiana Airlines supports these employees with three PCR tests and necessary quarantine measures upon return.
For the India special flights, the HEPA filters in the air circulation system are replaced before departure, and additional partitions are installed inside the aircraft to block horizontal airflow, thereby strengthening onboard disinfection measures. Two dedicated transport staff for local operations and two maintenance engineers for support are dispatched to assist expatriates in returning safely and promptly.
