According to the county on the 10th, on the 7th, 40 public officials from the Agricultural Technology Center visited an onion farm in Yuwol-ri, Haeje-myeon, for this year's first rural labor assistance, harvesting onions on an area of 0.7 hectares and working hard under the sun.
Starting with this first labor assistance, from the 20th of this month to the 15th of next month, all public officials working in Muan County plan to support the harvest of onions and garlic, focusing on farms vulnerable to labor shortages such as those of elderly living alone, disabled farmers, small-scale farms, and elderly farmers.
Governor Kim San said, "As the busy farming season begins, there is a need for labor in rural areas, but due to rural aging and the aftermath of COVID-19, securing manpower is not easy. Public officials will take the lead by going out to the field, sharing difficulties with farmers, and helping to overcome the labor shortage."
