Seoul Jung-gu Operates 'Help Desk' for May Comprehensive Income Tax and Local Income Tax
Comprehensive Income Tax and Local Income Tax Assistance Desk Installed on the 4th Floor of Jung-gu Office Annex Until May 31... Reporting Support Provided Only for All-Fill Filing Eligible Seniors Aged 65 and Over and Persons with Disabilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seo Yang-ho) is operating a 'Help Desk' until the 31st of this month, where taxpayers can simultaneously file comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax.
Taxpayers with comprehensive income for the year 2020 must file and pay comprehensive income tax at the tax office and individual local income tax at the respective autonomous district office during the May comprehensive income final filing period.
Accordingly, to provide convenience to taxpayers, the district has separately established the 'Individual Local Income Tax Help Desk' on the 4th floor of the annex building of Jung-gu Office and started its operation on the 3rd.
For smooth operation of the filing center, tax office staff in the area will work at the district office, and district office tax staff will work at the tax office in a cross-assignment until the end of the operation. Thanks to this, income taxpayers can file both comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax in a one-stop manner by visiting only one place, either the tax office or the district office.
Taxpayers eligible to use the Help Desk are limited to those aged 65 or older and persons with disabilities among those who received the 'Pre-filled Tax Return.' Other taxpayers should, in principle, use non-face-to-face filing and payment methods such as electronic filing via Hometax or Wetax or convenient methods like ARS.
The 'Pre-filled Tax Return' is a system where the National Tax Service notifies small business owners of the pre-calculated tax details so that they can pay without separate filing if there are no objections.
For those subject to the comprehensive income tax 'Pre-filled Tax Return,' an individual local income tax payment slip is sent together, so the taxpayer is recognized as having completed the individual local income tax filing by simply paying the amount stated on the payment slip without separate filing.
Additionally, to alleviate the economic burden caused by COVID-19, the district will extend the payment deadline for individual local income tax to August 31 by official order, the same as for comprehensive income tax for taxpayers affected by business suspension or operation restrictions.
For inquiries about individual local income tax payment and other questions, contact the dedicated individual local income tax call center or the Taxation Division 2 of Jung-gu Office.
