Comprehensive Hygiene Inspection of 1,414 Delivery Restaurants in Seocho-gu
Selection of 400 Businesses with Poor Hygiene Management, Providing Professional Consulting and Follow-up Re-evaluation to Strengthen Hygiene Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) is establishing a hygiene management system for delivery food establishments and introducing one-on-one customized consulting to address the increased interest and concerns of residents regarding delivery food establishments due to the recent surge in demand for delivery food, aiming to prevent food poisoning.
The hygiene management system for delivery food establishments prepared by Seocho-gu consists of three stages.
First, by May 31, 20 consumer food hygiene inspectors (10 teams) will conduct a full survey of 1,414 delivery food establishments in Seocho-gu, diagnose the hygiene status of each establishment, and select 400 establishments with insufficient hygiene management. The hygiene diagnosis is determined by summing evaluation scores for 34 items across 7 categories, including ingredient and facility management.
Based on this, in the second stage from June to August, a professional hygiene management company will diagnose and evaluate the hygiene status of the 400 establishments with insufficient hygiene management, and propose individualized one-on-one management plans to the business owners to improve hygiene levels.
In the final third stage, from September to October, it will be rechecked whether the 400 delivery food establishments that received professional consulting are properly implementing the improvement plans, and establishments with deficiencies will be intensively managed.
Additionally, a ‘Food Hygiene Self-Inspection Log’ will be created and distributed to all establishments, enabling business owners to self-diagnose daily to strengthen hygiene management capabilities. For outstanding establishments that wish to participate, kitchen disclosure videos will be produced and promoted on the district office website.
