Incheon Namdong-gu, Gachon University, and LG Uplus Collaborate on Contactless Care Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Namdong-gu, Incheon, Gachon University, and LG Uplus have signed an agreement to support non-face-to-face integrated care services for the elderly and dementia patients.
According to Namdong-gu on the 6th, this agreement was promoted to revitalize non-face-to-face care services due to restrictions on face-to-face care services for chronic disease patients and elderly living alone caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
LG Uplus will provide a 'healthcare platform' that can verify the health status of the elderly and the effectiveness of care content, while Gachon University will be responsible for content development through academic research.
Through this, the district plans to provide user monitoring and non-face-to-face intervention services using Internet of Things (IoT) devices in four areas: ▲health, safety, and security ▲leisure and care ▲sleep and emotional well-being ▲dementia.
Once the service is introduced, radar sensors will be attached to the beds of mobility-impaired individuals to enable emergency calls in case of falls, and senior-specialized content such as games and audiobooks to promote cognitive function of the elderly population will be provided to manage depression and loneliness indices.
