Parents of child left in trash-covered house booked... Investigation into abuse underway
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] A child who was alone in a house filled with garbage was rescued, and the police have launched an investigation.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 6th that the parents who left their two-year-old child unattended at home have been booked on charges of neglect under the Child Welfare Act.
At around 10:50 PM the previous day, the police responded to a report of a child crying continuously. When they arrived, the child was alone at home, and the house was reportedly filled with so much garbage that it was difficult to consider it a home where a child was being raised.
The police estimate that the child was alone for about six hours, based on the parents' absence and other factors.
