Hanseong Cleantec Wins Seawater Desalination Plant Contract in Indonesia
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] E&C Corporation announced on the 6th that its subsidiary Hanseong Cleantec has won a seawater desalination plant construction contract worth 7.8 million dollars from HK (Hutama Karya), Indonesia's largest state-owned enterprise.
The facility supplies boiler feedwater, drinking water, and plant water to the JAWA 9&10 power plants in Indonesia. It is a water treatment plant including membrane-based seawater desalination equipment. Hanseong Cleantec succeeded in winning the contract by surpassing numerous overseas specialized companies through an international bidding process.
The company explained that it is significant because Hanseong Cleantec is entering the seawater desalination market for the first time. For over 30 years, it has been responsible for pure water treatment, wastewater treatment, and membrane-based wastewater recycling equipment in chemical plants, power plants, and the semiconductor industry. This achievement proves that it possesses world-class seawater desalination plant technology based on accumulated know-how.
The entire contract process was conducted remotely, including technical and price negotiations, representing a new type of contract acquisition. This has allowed the company to accumulate new know-how for future overseas contract activities. The project will be completed over the next year through continuous remote video conferences.
