Assemblyman Shin Jeong-hoon Holds Residents' Briefing on Wolsong District Drainage Improvement Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Shin Jeong-hoon, Member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea, Jeonnam Naju·Hwasun), held a residents' briefing session on June 6 regarding the future plans for the drainage improvement project in Wolsong District, Donggang-myeon, Naju City.
The briefing session, attended by village residents and heads from Wolsong, Daeji, and Gokcheon-ri in Donggang-myeon, as well as Lee Sang-man, a member of the Naju City Council, was organized to announce the commencement of the long-awaited Wolsong District drainage improvement project and to gather residents' opinions.
Assemblyman Shin Jeong-hoon stated, "As a result of efforts made together with local residents, the Wolsong District drainage improvement project has been selected as a basic survey target area by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs," adding, "We will continue to show interest and support so that national funds can be invested promptly to resolve the chronic flooding areas."

Kim Seon-il, Director of the Naju Branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation, explained the implementation plan: "In Donggang-myeon Wolsong District, we plan to invest 12.2 billion KRW over four years to install two drainage pump stations and 6.5 km of drainage channels over a beneficiary area of 160 hectares."
