Singer Kim Heung-guk Booked by Police for Hit-and-Run Involving Motorcycle
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Singer Kim Heung-guk (62) has been booked on charges of fleeing the scene without taking responsibility after hitting a motorcycle.
According to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 6th, Kim was driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) at an intersection in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu around 11:20 a.m. on the 24th of last month when he ran a red light, made an illegal left turn, collided with a motorcycle, and fled the scene.
Kim faces charges of hit-and-run injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
The police explained that the motorcycle also entered the intersection against a yellow light, violating the signal. The motorcycle rider is reported to have injured a leg in the accident. It was also reported that Kim was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
