Kakao Decides to Grant Stock Options Worth 53.9 Billion KRW to Headquarters Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Kakao announced on the 4th through a public disclosure that it has decided to grant stock options to 2,506 headquarters employees, with each receiving 200 shares (approximately 22 million KRW worth). The total stock options granted amount to 472,900 shares, with an exercise price of 114,040 KRW per share, totaling approximately 53.9 billion KRW. Among them, 2,223 employees who have worked for more than one year will receive 200 shares each, while 283 employees with less than one year of service will receive 100 shares each. The exercise period is from May 4, 2023, to May 4, 2028. Employees can exercise 50% of the options after two years of continuous service and the remaining after three years of continuous service.

Kakao stated, "Starting this year and continuing through 2023, we plan to grant 200 shares annually, up to a maximum of 600 shares in total," adding, "This is intended to motivate employees and align with the company's continuous growth."
