Easy-to-Read Buddhist Scripture, 'Sulsul Reading and Enlightening the Geumganggyeong' Published
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] The "Diamond Sutra," considered a representative Buddhist scripture, has been translated and annotated to be easily accessible to everyone.
The Diamond Sutra is the most widely known Buddhist scripture among both Buddhists and non-Buddhists, and holds special significance beyond just one of many scriptures, especially for Korean Buddhists. In Korean Buddhism, which centers on Mahayana Buddhism and Seon (Zen) Buddhism, the Diamond Sutra holds a more special meaning and status than any other scripture.
The Diamond Sutra contains the essence of Mahayana Buddhism, such as emptiness and the practice of bodhisattvas, and since the Sixth Patriarch Huineng, it has become a minor scripture of the Seon school, greatly influencing Buddhist thought, practice, and meditation.
Published by Unjusa, "Easily Read and Understood Diamond Sutra" is not a simple translation but a modern interpretation of the dialogue between the Buddha and Subhuti. Previous commentaries required reading the original text and then studying difficult and profound concepts or explanations of the sutra, but this book reduces such complexity.
This book does not separate translation and commentary; it smoothly interprets the translated sutra into modern Korean so that the translation itself serves as the commentary. It is a compilation of results from members of the NGO Namaste Korea, who are interested in and engage with Himalayan cultures, studying together.

This group included not only Buddhists but also members of other religions such as Catholicism.
