Gwangju City to Recruit Preliminary (PRE) Premium Small Giants Until the 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 4th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘Pre(PRE)-Premium Small Giant Company Development Project,’ which is operated to discover and nurture promising local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), until the 24th.
Pre(PRE)-Premium Small Giant Companies are groups of companies at the first stage of the corporate growth ladder, targeting local SMEs with high growth based on technological innovation.
The recruitment target is manufacturing and knowledge service industry companies whose headquarters and main business sites are located in Gwangju as of the announcement date (4th), with a total of 12 companies to be recruited.
This recruitment is being promoted to fill vacancies due to the expiration of the designation period (2 years) of the current 12 third-term Pre(PRE)-Premium Small Giant Companies, along with the re-designation status of these companies and vacancies from companies that have given up re-designation or were disqualified.
The selection criteria are companies with sales of 1 billion KRW or more and less than 5 billion KRW (for knowledge service industries, 500 million KRW or more and less than 1 billion KRW), and an R&D investment ratio of 3% or more compared to sales over the past three years.
For more details, refer to the city’s website under notices and announcements by searching for ‘Pre(PRE)-Premium Small Giant Company.’
Selected companies receive focused support and preferential benefits such as city SME development funds, corporate diagnosis, growth strategy establishment, and overseas marketing to help them grow into the next stage of the corporate growth ladder, such as ‘Premium Small Giant Companies’ or ‘Regional Star Companies,’ representing the region.
The city plans to finalize the selection at the July selection committee after a first document screening and a second presentation and on-site evaluation for the applicant companies.
So far, the city has designated about 20 Pre(PRE)-Premium Small Giant Companies and about 100 Premium Small Giant Companies, providing customized support services such as funding and comprehensive consulting.
