Softcamp and Enki Establish Joint Venture... "Providing SW Supply Chain Security Cloud Service"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Softcamp announced on the 4th that it will establish a joint venture, XScan Corporation (hereinafter referred to as XScan), with Enki.
XScan will launch under a co-CEO structure with Softcamp's CEO Baehwankuk and Enki's Director Lee Seongkwon. According to the company, intelligent attacks through software supplied by developers are increasing and causing serious damage, as seen in the information leakage incident last December known as the 'SolarWinds incident.' Instead of directly infiltrating large corporations and public institutions with enhanced security, attackers bypass relatively vulnerable software developers to distribute malware in their products. However, there is currently no stable supply chain security maintenance system in the process of delivering and supplying software to customers.
XScan will provide a security cloud service capable of responding to supply chain hacking threats by combining Softcamp's security technology know-how with Enki's intelligent malware analysis technology.
Baehwankuk, CEO of Softcamp, said, “We will provide a safe supply system that can be mutually trusted between software developers and customers. Additionally, we will offer multi-virus scanning, malware infection suspicion checks, and analysis and review services by security experts to present a new solution for software supply chain security.”
Lee Seongkwon, Director of Enki, added, “Enki's cyber threat security expert group is expected to contribute to malware analysis detection and security technology enhancement for the supply chain security cloud service.”
