Customized Drone Event for Children Visiting Local Daycare Centers Conducted
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 3rd that it held a special love-sharing event for children by visiting an orphanage in Yeosu in celebration of Family Month.
The Authority and the West Sea Regional Coast Guard (hereinafter Coast Guard) jointly delivered daily necessities to marginalized neighbors on the 1st to share warm affection and love, and conducted a customized drone event for children as well as environmental cleanup activities around the childcare facility.
In particular, to give children a special memory, the Authority planned a drone fishing experience event where children directly operated drones owned by the Authority to catch gifts attached with magnets on the drones, which attracted great interest from the children.
After the drone experience event, the Authority’s staff additionally conducted special drone disinfection to prevent diseases and pests caused by trees and dense grass around the orphanage.
At the event, a representative of the orphanage said, “We are grateful for visiting the orphanage and spending meaningful time with the children during difficult times such as COVID-19,” and added, “We are happy that the children have a special pride in the drone experience.”
