[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will open a 2.7 km section within the 254,648㎡ Dogok Neighborhood Park (San 31-4, Dogok-dong) as the "Maebong-gil You Want to Walk" to residents this December.
The district will maintain the steep areas of the Maebong Mountain Dogok Neighborhood Park trail and connect a 510m disconnected section with a deck. At the main entrance, an integrated image (CI) symbolizing the "Maebong-gil You Want to Walk" will be installed, and facilities will be expanded and newly renovated.
The park site with a total floor area of 33,799㎡ at Gangnam Severance Hospital (San 6-18, San 6-41, 148, Dogok-dong) is also included in the maintenance area and will be remodeled. According to the district unit plan around the hospital, this site is expected to be donated to the district.
Through this project, the district plans to add eight pocket rest areas, one restroom, and traditional pavilions. The 1.8 billion KRW funding for this has been secured through the supplementary budget on the 27th. Currently, the park has five pavilions, three badminton courts, exercise facilities, an indoor badminton court, a plaza, a spring, and one restroom each.
