CES Held Online This Year to Be Held Offline in Las Vegas Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The world's largest electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition, CES, which was held online this year due to COVID-19, will be held on-site in Las Vegas next year as in previous years.
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 28th (local time), the organizer, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) of the United States, announced that next year's CES will be held in Las Vegas from January 5th with at least 1,000 companies participating.
These companies are expected to include South Korea's Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, as well as Amazon and Sony.
In particular, the CTA explained that unlike this year's online event held due to the impact of COVID-19, next year it will be held on-site as in previous years, while also allowing participation online.
However, the CTA added that it will prepare the event by referring to COVID-19 safety guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local authorities, and that the event will be scaled down to about 75,000 participants due to travel restrictions.
