Online Course for 6 Weeks Starting May 24... Enrollment Open Until June 14... Exploring the History of Korean Local Autonomy, Significance and Limitations of the Full Revision of the Local Autonomy Act
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seongap) is operating the ‘Autonomy and Decentralization University Gwangjin Campus Special Education Program’ this year to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the revival of local autonomy.
This Autonomy and Decentralization University is prepared under the theme ‘Now, Again, Autonomy and Decentralization’ to review the history of Korean local autonomy with residents and consider future tasks.
Additionally, there will be a session to examine the significance and limitations of the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act, which is set to be fully implemented in 2022.
The course is open to anyone interested in autonomy and decentralization, including residents, resident autonomy committee members, and public officials, and the tuition is free.
The education will be conducted online for six weeks from May 24 to July 2, consisting of a total of 18 lectures each about 20 minutes long.
For students who find online attendance difficult, video links will be sent for each lecture, allowing easy access anytime and anywhere with electronic devices such as smartphones or tablets.
Also, students will take online midterm and final exams based on what they have learned, and a certificate of completion will be issued if they achieve an average score of 60 or above.
Residents wishing to enroll can fill out the application form posted on the Gwangjin-gu Office website by May 14 and submit it by visit or email. For more details, contact the Planning and Budget Division of Gwangjin-gu Office.
