[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 27th, the Geochang-gun Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps and its members conducted a "Special Quarantine Week" campaign against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) targeting local residents at the rotary in Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam.
This campaign was designated as a "Special Quarantine Week" from the 26th until May 2nd before the new social distancing level adjustment, aiming to reverse the upward trend.
The main content encourages residents to refrain from non-urgent gatherings, events, dinners, and travel for one week, and to actively comply with basic quarantine rules such as wearing masks.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, stated, "During the Special Quarantine Management Week, all public officials, together with the residents, will take the lead and focus administrative efforts on preventing the spread of COVID-19."
The county's Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps consists of 436 members from 20 organizations and is recognized as a model group actively participating in pre-inspection of disaster risk areas, post-disaster recovery activities, and campaigns.
