[Photo] Seongjanghyeon, Yongsangu District Mayor, Attends Inter-Korean Exchange Cooperation Forum via Video Conference
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan District, attended the temporary general meeting of the National Si/Gun/Gu Inter-Korean Exchange Cooperation Forum on the 26th.
The meeting was held in a non-face-to-face format with 26 participants including local government heads and advisory committee members. The main agenda items were the organization and operation of the National Inter-Korean Exchange Cooperation Local Government Council and the additional appointment of forum executives. Mayor Seong was appointed as an advisor along with Baek Gun-gi, Mayor of Yongin.
The Inter-Korean Exchange Cooperation Forum is a policy consultation body that discovers inter-Korean exchange policy tasks at the Si/Gun/Gu level nationwide and supports the promotion of exchanges between inter-Korean cities.
The inaugural general meeting was held on the 16th of last month at Sowol Art Hall in Seongdong District, with 38 basic local government heads joining, and Yeom Tae-young, Mayor of Suwon, serving as the standing representative.

Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan District, said, “Yongsan, the gateway to Eurasia, will elevate its status as a global central city once the inter-Korean railway is connected,” adding, “Through regular meetings, we will research and discuss together to promote inter-Korean exchange cooperation projects tailored to regional characteristics.”
