Connecting Consumption Across Eco-Friendly Stores... Creating a Sustainable Consumption Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] AK Plaza announced on the 27th that it will hold a popup event for 'Unlimeat,' the plant-based meat brand of food tech startup 'Jiguin Company.'
The 'Unlimeat' event will be held as an offline popup store at AK Plaza Bundang branch until May 6. The event will feature four signature alternative meat products and two meal kits from 'Jiguin Company’s' popular brand 'Unlimeat,' along with various menu items such as 'Pulled Barbecue,' 'Garlic Tteokgalbi Sandwich,' and 'Jalapeno Barbecue Hot Dog.'
'Jiguin Company' is a startup that develops and distributes plant-based meat. Through launching Korea’s first plant-based meat brand 'Unlimeat,' it is leading the domestic vegan and eco-friendly alternative meat market. It was also selected as a key company in the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) sector for the 2021 P4G Seoul Summit scheduled to be held in Korea this year.
AK Plaza stated, "This event aims to create an eco-friendly consumption environment," adding, "The 'Zero Money' voucher issued for purchases over 30,000 KRW at the AK Plaza 'Unlimeat' popup store can be used at some of AK Plaza’s eco-friendly stores. At the 'Garden Earth' store located in the Bundang branch, presenting the 'Zero Money' voucher will entitle customers to receive a free ivy plant pot."
Meanwhile, AK Plaza has been continuously opening eco-friendly stores. Last month, it opened the plant lifestyle brand 'Garden Earth' in collaboration with 'Macho’s Adolescence' at the Bundang branch. AK Plaza’s dining brands 'La Rom de Paing,' 'Cafe de Matinee,' and 'Kitchen de Matinee' offer vegan cookies, shakes, and other items excluding animal-based ingredients. The cultural academies at the Bundang and Suwon branches are preparing to launch 'Jigu Mom Salon,' an eco-friendly household workshop for mothers in their 30s and 40s. Comprising lectures on zero waste living methods, 'Jigu Mom Salon' has received positive responses from young housewife customers in their 30s.
