Presenting Unique Experience Events Like Instrument Playing and Cooking for Children's Day and Family Month... Online and Offline Events Combined for Children with Reduced Outdoor Activities Due to COVID-19... First 300 Participants in Music Concert Contest Receive Coffee Gifticons
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) will hold the “Yeongdeungpo Mom(心)·Fun(fun) Day,” an infant and toddler family festival that can be enjoyed both online and offline simultaneously, to celebrate Children’s Day and Family Month in May.
“Yeongdeungpo Mom(心)·Fun(fun) Day” is an ambitious project prepared by the district to make this May a more enjoyable time for local infant and toddler families.
Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic limiting activities, the district has organized this event with the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center and the Daycare Center Association to allow families with young children to spend precious time together.
Starting with “Emotional Growth, ♬Small Concert♪” on May 1, events such as “Young Chef, Please Make Healthy Food!” and “Our Family, Freestyle Music Contest” will be presented consecutively to children and families.
First, “Emotional Growth, ♬Small Concert♪” will be held in two tracks: online (May 1) and small-scale offline (May 5). Two hundred and twenty families enrolled in local daycare centers will be selected to receive instrument kits, make instruments, and play music with their families. Two hundred families will participate online, and twenty families offline.
“Young Chef, Please Make Healthy Food!” is an online cooking experience event. On the upcoming Children’s Day, May 5, participants will communicate in real-time with a professional chef via video and make spring seasonal dishes such as spring vegetable tofu noodle pasta and cucumber lotus root pickles.
Notably, Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il will make a surprise appearance as a “one-day chef,” offering healthy and appetizing seasonal dishes to residents. Any infant and toddler family living in the area can participate by pre-registering. The district will recruit a total of 100 families through the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center website.
Finally, the “Our Family, Freestyle Music Contest” will take place from May 10 to 23. Participants will play various instruments or devices or sing children’s songs with their infants and toddlers, record the performance on video, and submit it to the Naver Cafe “YK (Yeongdeungpo Kids) Our Family Freestyle Music Concert.”
The first 300 participants during the period will receive coffee gifticons.
The district plans to strictly adhere to COVID-19 prevention guidelines and conduct regular disinfection to ensure a safe and enjoyable event.
Meanwhile, the recently opened “The Hyundai Seoul” in Yeouido has supported this event as part of its corporate social responsibility, adding special significance.
