Gwanak-gu Provides 500,000 Won Employment Incentive to 12,000 Unemployed Youth
Unemployed Youth Aged 19-34 Living in Gwanak-gu, Within 2 Years of Graduation... 500,000 Won Gwanak Love Gift Certificate Provided... Online Application on Seoul Youth Portal from May 3 to June 4
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it will accept applications for employment incentives starting May 3rd for about 12,000 unemployed youth facing difficulties due to COVID-19.
The district, known as a youth city with the highest youth population nationwide at 40%, has allocated an emergency supplementary budget of 6.1 billion KRW to address the worsening youth employment shock caused by COVID-19, dedicating full efforts to promote employment and stabilize the lives of unemployed youth.
The support targets unemployed youth aged 19 to 34 residing in Gwanak-gu who graduated within the last two years. Those currently receiving or eligible for unemployment benefits, participants in the 2020 Youth Job-Seeking Activity Support Fund, and those involved in the 2021 National Employment Support System (Type 1) are excluded. However, short-term workers working 26 hours or less per week or for less than three months are eligible to apply.
Applications can be submitted online via the Seoul Youth Portal after checking the announcement on the Gwanak-gu website (News & Notices → Public Announcements) from May 3rd to June 4th.
The support will be provided as a 500,000 KRW Gwanak Love Gift Certificate (mobile) per person, with payments scheduled by the end of June after screening. Final selection results can be individually checked on the Seoul Youth Portal → My Page.
