[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Lotte Department Store is holding an event that offers the biggest shopping benefits for cosmetics once a year.
Lotte Department Store announced on the 26th that it will hold a Cosmetic Fair with a total of 42 cosmetics brands participating nationwide for 10 days from the 30th to May 9th.
The Lotte Department Store Cosmetic Fair was first held last year as overseas travel became practically difficult due to COVID-19. At this Cosmetic Fair, customers who join the Beauty Plus on the Lotte Department Store application will receive a 7-15% discount benefit. A 10% department store mobile gift certificate will also be provided. Each cosmetics brand will offer an additional 5-10% gift certificate and mileage accumulation. When receiving all benefits, customers can get more than twice the benefits compared to previous cosmetics purchases.
Since the first quarter of this year, demand has been recovering mainly for basic cosmetics. Over the past three months, sales of cosmetics categories at Lotte Department Store have grown by 12% in February, 45% in March, and 21% in April (up to the 22nd) compared to the previous year.
To continue this trend, this event features a total of 42 famous domestic and international cosmetics brands such as Sulwhasoo, Whoo, Lanc?me, and Kiehl’s. Targeting the gift season for Family Month in May, the number of cosmetics gift sets has been expanded to over 60. Lotte Department Store said, "Since this event targets gift demand, we will showcase a variety of items including stylish gifts for people in their 20s and 30s, anti-aging products for those in their 40s and 50s, and seasonal essential products for all ages and genders."
For gifts for parents, they prepared the Sulwhasoo Yunjo Essence 120ml LTD set (160,000 KRW), which reportedly sells one bottle every 10 seconds worldwide. Est?e Lauder’s "Advanced Night Repair Serum" (50ml) will offer one additional full-size product (157,000 KRW) for the first customers who purchase two during the period. Yves Saint Laurent’s "Encre de Peau Cushion" (89,000 KRW) will provide a full-size Watershine Lip Glow (48,000 KRW) as a gift with purchase during the period. The niche perfume brand Acqua di Parma will launch a new limited edition of "Mirto di Panarea" during the event period.
Lotte Department Store is conducting an exclusive integrated online and offline event with L’Or?al Korea, a global company that owns famous cosmetics brands such as Lanc?me, Kiehl’s, and Yves Saint Laurent. They selected seven representative luxury cosmetics items that sold the most at Lotte Department Store last year, and customers who purchase these representative item sets will receive an additional 5,000 L.POINTs on a first-come, first-served basis from April 29 to May 9 on Lotte ON and Lotte Department Store Mall, and from April 30 to May 2 in department store stores, limited to one time per person.
After joining the "Beauty Plus Club" on the Lotte Department Store app, customers who purchase 200,000 KRW, 400,000 KRW, 600,000 KRW, 1,000,000 KRW, or 2,000,000 KRW or more from participating brands will receive a mobile Lotte gift certificate worth about 10% (April 30?May 2, May 7?May 9). Additionally, customers can also receive a 7% discount (up to 70,000 KRW) once per person.
