Dobong-gu Drive-in Theater Screening of 'Onward: A Day's Miracle'
Held on May 1 at Duksung Women's University Grand Stadium... Admission from 6 PM to 7:30 PM on the day, advance reservation required via Dobong-gu website... All-ages viewing on a giant screen
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) has prepared a drive-in theater where the whole family can enjoy together in celebration of Family Month in May.
The Dobong Drive-in Theater is a non-face-to-face event using private cars, allowing safe viewing from COVID-19, making it a highly popular event among residents.
Last year alone, it was held twice, providing healing time for residents who could not visit movie theaters due to COVID-19.
This drive-in theater will be held on May 1st at the main stadium of Duksung Women's University.
The movie will be screened following a pre-event and cultural performances starting at 7:30 PM, and admission is allowed from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. However, to prevent congestion and maintain distance between vehicles, the number of cars is limited to about 300, and viewing is possible only after making a reservation in advance through the Dobong-gu website. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
The movie to be screened this time is the all-ages animation "Onward: The Magical Day." Released in June 2020, this film depicts the adventure of two brothers searching for their father. As it is Family Month, it is a movie that allows viewers to reflect on the meaning of family once again.
Before the movie screening, an LED Tron Dance performance and a laser graphic show are also prepared. The LED Tron Dance and laser graphic show, performed to the music of Psy and Michael Jackson, will enhance the weekend evening atmosphere and somewhat soothe the audience's thirst for performances.
Additionally, through an event quiz held before the main movie screening, small prizes sponsored by the nonprofit organization "People Sharing Hope" and "Bunny Communications" will be given.
All performances and screenings will be conducted in compliance with quarantine rules, so all vehicle occupants must undergo a temperature check before entry and complete the electronic entry log (QR code).
The theater will be thoroughly disinfected before and after the screening, and extra hand sanitizers and masks will be provided for use.
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "I hope families enjoy a pleasant weekend watching movies from their cars during Family Month, and I hope this performance and movie will provide comfort to residents who have been unable to visit theaters and cinemas due to COVID-19."
